Coffee enemas are treatments used to detox your body. The way they do this is by triggering your liver's production and distribution of bile, which helps cleanse your liver of toxins. A coffee enema can trigger such an extreme production of bile that the liver can enjoy a significant cleansing after just a few minutes of this treatment. Detoxifying your liver can make you feel better throughout your body and often provide an energy boost. They can also help relieve pain in some individuals, particularly those suffering from cancer or radiation treatment.

Bring 2 to 3 tbsp. of organic coffee grounds to boil in 4 cups of water. Boil for three minutes, reduce the heat and let the grounds simmer for 15 minutes. It is important to use a glass or enamel pot--metal or plastic pots can give off a residue that might make you sick when you insert the enema.
Strain the grounds and water with a fine sieve. Allow the fluid to cool to less than 100 degrees.
Pour the fluid into the enema bag and clamp shut. Lubricate the nozzle of the bag.
Hang the enema bag at least 18 to 24 inches off the floor of your bathroom. Enema bags will empty faster the higher in the air they are placed.
Lay a large towel down on your bathroom floor. Lie down on the towel on your right side. Curl your legs and knees up into your abdomen and chest.
Breathe deeply and slowly, inserting the nozzle of the bag several inches into your rectum. You might want to twist the enema gently as you insert it to facilitate its entry into the rectum
Let the solution enter your rectum from the enema bag for 10 to 12 minutes. If desired, you can switch positions from the right side to the left side if you want to help the fluid reach farther into your colon--just make sure you don't withdraw the enema bag nozzle when doing this.
Remove the enema slowly. Go to the bathroom to empty your bowels of the fluid.
