Hey there I'm Tafiq Akhir, America's Healthy Lifestyle Coach. And I'm going to show you how far you have to go down to do a push-up. Push-ups are a great exercise for developing your chest muscles. How far you can go down would depend on your strength level. I'm going to demonstrate how to do a proper push-up. As you get stronger you will definitely be able to get closer and closer to the floor. To get in proper position to do your push-up you are going to take it all the way down laying flat on your stomach on the floor. Make sure that your hands are just about shoulder's width apart just outside your chest. Nice flat back and tuck your stomach in. Then you are going to push yourself all the way up in one unit making sure that your body is straight line. Inhale slowly taking it down as close to the floor as you can. Exhale as you press up. The stronger you get the easier it will be to get closer to the floor. Your goal essentially is to get your nose to touch the floor keeping your back nice and flat.
