The combination of salty peanuts and sweet chocolate is a classic taste treat. Chocolate covered peanuts are readily available in your grocer’s candy aisle or from gourmet candy manufacturers, but you don’t have to leave home to enjoy this sweet delight. With only three ingredients, you can make your own chocolate covered peanuts at home.

Video of the Day

Step 1

Combine chocolate-flavored candy coating squares and milk chocolate baking bits in a large microwaveable bowl.

Step 2

Microwave on high for one minute. Stir the mixture. Continue to microwave, stopping and stirring every 30 seconds until the mixture is completely melted and smooth. The mixture will be thick and creamy, not runny.

Step 3

Add dry roasted peanuts to the melted chocolate mixture and stir quickly to coat the peanuts.

Step 4

Drop the mixture by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. If you like, you can separate the peanuts while the mixture is still warm and soft into individual chocolate-covered peanuts.

Step 5

Store chocolate-covered peanuts in an airtight container after the chocolate coating hardens.
