Alpha hydroxy acids, or AHAs, are a type of acid found naturally in fruit and certain other foods. According to ABC News, AHAs naturally exfoliate the skin, which is why they are frequently added to skin care products. Since skin care products can be pricey and do not provide the body with all the additional antioxidants found in fruit, try getting your alpha hydroxy acids through nutrition. The fruits that contain AHAs also provide a wealth of other health benefits.
