How Does the Acai Berry Cleanse Work?

Preparation

The acai berry cleanse starts by reducing ingestion of high-fat, high-sugar content foods, junk food and desserts, and to curtail such foods from the diet for approximately three days before starting the cleanse. Individuals are encouraged to drink plenty of water (at least 64 oz. a day).

Cleanse

The acai berry cleanse offers the most effective benefits when taken as a juice. Those who buy pills, supplements or powdered forms of acai berry cleanse products should follow instructions on the product. The acai berry juice is the most effective, as many supplement pills and capsules available on the market have not been tested, and scams are prevalent. The acai berry detox has the acai extract and other beneficial herbs. In most cases, you will be instructed to drink at least an ounce of the acai berry juice three times a day with meals for two days. The cleanse removes toxins and wastes that accumulate in the colon, or large intestine, and promotes evacuation. This encourages weight loss and removal of such wastes from the intestines.

Follow Through

After completing the acai berry detox, people are encouraged to increase exercise, drink adequate amounts of water and eat a healthy, nutritious diet rich in vegetables and fruits. The acai berry cleanse is designed as a detox product, not as a weight-loss product. An acai berry cleanse may perform a cleanse every month or every few months for long-term cleanse benefits--such as increased energy, regular bowel movements, reduction of constipation and diarrhea (and for some, weight loss).
